PROFILE

Chie Toriumi joined Nomura in 1989 and held various positions across different groups within the firm, including the New Products Development Group in Equities and the Corporate Finance Group. She became a Senior Managing Director in 2011, overseeing group strategy, retail business strategy, research, and sustainability. From 2014 to 2018, she served as President and CEO of Nomura Trust and Banking.

Ms. Toriumi holds a B.A. in Law from Waseda University and an MBA from Stanford University. She is a certified Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). Since April 2025, she has also been serving as Chief Sustainability Officer.
