PROFILE
Keiko Hamada joined Asahi Shimbun in 1989 and the AERA editorial department from 1999. She worked her way up to deputy editor-in-chief and was then named editor-in-chief of AERA in 2014. After leaving Asahi Shimbun at the end of March 2017, she launched the Japanese version of Business Insider, an online economic media outlet in 12 countries around the world, as executive editor-in-chief. She left at the end of 2020 to become a freelance journalist. In August 2022, Ms. Hamada established the Digital Journalist Development Organization. She has won the 2022 Social Journalist Award and has served as a director of the B. League since October 2023.
Ms. Hamada has worked as a commentator on "Hatori Shinichi Morning Show," "Sunday Morning," and "newsrunner," and has given many lectures on diversity and other topics. Her books include "Working Women and Guilt," "The End of Male-Dominated Companies," and "Before Pressing the Like Button" (co-authored).
