Marina Fujiwara is a Tokyo-based content creator and writer, best known for her concept of Muda-Zukuri—the art of creating “useless inventions.” Since launching her YouTube channel MUDAZUKURI in 2013, she has invented over 300 quirky devices that are simultaneously humorous, thoughtful, and surprisingly functional in their own illogical way.
Her work explores the boundary between utility and futility, offering a playful yet critical look at our relationship with technology, efficiency, and productivity.
She has been featured in Forbes Japan’s 30 UNDER 30, and received the TOYP Youth Honor Award.
Marina regularly appears on NHK Educational TV and speaks at conferences such as the International Conference for Women in Business and Awwwards Japan.
