Noriko Takahashi
Baton twirler, Cirque du Soleil, active in the Kà show
PROFILE
Noriko Takahashi was born in Yokohama, Japan She started baton dancing at the age of 6, and competed in her first All-Japan Championships in the 3rd grade of elementary school, and since then has competed 25 years in a row. She was the first grand champion in baton at the age of 18, and was the grand champion of all individual events 17 times.
She has participates in 15 World Championships. In 1991, she was the first Japanese woman to win a gold medal in the individual women's senior division. Since then, she has won 7 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze medals.
Cirque du Soleil signed her to a contract without an audition. She was selected for the show, Kà. She was also featured in "Jounetsu Tairiku" (Continent of Passion). She began performing at MGM in Las Vegas in November 2004. By the end of June 2023, she will have completed 7,000 performances.
Ms. Takahashi is a board member of the NPO, "JFAN (Japanese Festival Association of NEVADA). She is also a supporter of the general incorporated association "Yumekigenjin".
