Tamao Sasada is Country Executive for Japan and President and Representative Director for BofA Securities Japan since 2019. She also serves as Head of Japan Investment Banking as well as Co-Head of Asia Pacific Financial Institutions Group in GCIB. In her role as Country Executive, Tamao is responsible for the execution and development of the Bank’s strategy, business activities and governance for Japan entity. She is a member of APAC Executive Committee.

Tamao’s focus is to drive business growth through enhancing client relationships in Japan and in the region, assisting clients with their strategic business needs including M&A and capital markets related opportunities. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Tamao worked at Legal Department of Itochu Corporation where she engaged in project finance transactions, and also worked in New York as a corporate lawyer at Skadden Arps and Milbank Tweed.

Active in driving empowerment of female leaders, she serves as a member of Global Diversity & Inclusion Council for Bank of America and Co-chairs APAC Diversity & Inclusion Council. Tamao serves as a working-group member for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s “Tokyo Green Finance Initiative” supporting Tokyo Metropolitan’s environment and social initiative. She also supports Japan Securities Dealers Association with its sustainable finance initiatives. Executive Committee Member at International Banking Association in Japan.
