Born in Ibaraki Prefecture, Yumiko Kamata began working in the Ekinka business in 2001 and became President and Representative Director of JR East Station Retailing, which operates "ecute", in 2005. She then launched a regional rediscovery project at the head office to expand sales channels for local products and processing of agricultural products, including Aomori "A-FACTORY," local products store "Nomono," and Echigo-Yuzawa station improvements. In 2015: she served as senior executive officer of Calbee Co. Currently at ONE-GLOCAL Inc., Ms. Kamada works with local governments and local companies to develop industries that utilize local resources from a regional design perspective. She is also involved in product development utilizing unused resources and processing and selling rare materials found in the region, and is engaged in original the planning, manufacturing, and sales of small lots.
Ms. Kamada is deeply involved in the community, serving as an outside director and member of various advisory committees for national and local governments, NHK, etc., and as an ambassador for Ibaraki, Aomori, Kasama City, and Chikusei City.
