Yu Serizawa

Senior Advisor for Japan to the World Economic Forum
Spending most of her formative years in Europe, Ms. Serizawa received a French Baccalaureate diploma (majoring in economics and sociology) in 1976 and graduated from Institut d'Etudes Poltiques de Paris, Section Service Public (majoring in economic policy and public law) in 1980. During her studies, she also worked as a conference assistant at the Paris office of the World Bank. From 1980 to 1985, Ms. Serizawa worked for Credit Lyonnais (two years in the Paris head office and three years in Tokyo as an analyst and economist). In 1986, she co-founded InfoPlus, Inc. where she was a managing editor of the first English-language newsletter on the Japanese financial markets "Nippon Finance" and acted as a consultant in sectors ranging from the planning of international conferences to finance. Ms. Serizawa left InfoPlus and established Forma Corporation (specializing in designing training session for cross-cultural management) in May 1992, where she is the president and CEO. In her role as Senior Advisor for Japan to the World Economic Forum, Ms. Serizawa has attended the Davos meeting of the world top political and business leaders for fifteen times. She also serves as an advisor to the Mori Building Co., Ltd.
