Janet Jarman
Photojournalist
Ms. Janet Jarman is a photojournalist covering news, culture, development environmental issues. Since becoming freelance in 1997, her photographs have been featured in international publications and juried exhibits and received awards in Pictures of the year, Communication Arts Photography Annual, and Best of Photojournalism.
Ms. Jarman has dedicated much of her career to covering stories in Latin America, first as a journalist based in South Florida, then as a visiting scholar in Chile and later while completing a masters degree in environmental issues with an emphasis on the region.
During the last three years, she has focused her coverages on possibilities for sustainable development, the social and environmental effects of globalization (with emphasis on immigration and urban issues), alternatives to deforestation and related topics.
