Akiko Izumi

After graduating from Yokohama National University, Ms. Akiko Izumi joined Fukutake Publishing Company, now known as Bennesse Corporation. She left to join the News Department of Nihon Short-wave Broadcasting and then became a freelance presenter/reporter for daily news and economic programs on NHK and other networks. In 1991, Izumi qualified as a first-level AFP financial planner, and in 1995 obtained the advance-level CFP qualification. Her motto is "Attain financial independence and live freely as you are". She promotes her total life plan, which synthesizes money and career.
She also teaches "Financial literacy for consumers" and "Women's career & financial planning, living in the 21st century flexibly", at the Waseda University Extension Center.
She is also a commentator on "Watch" (TBS), and recently co-authored "Advice
for Revising Life Insurance".
