Naoko Banno
Director, Career Strategy, Inc.
President, The Quick, Inc.
Ms. Naoko Banno joined Fuji Television as an announcer upon graduation from International Christian University. She received an MBA from Columbia University and then worked for KPMG Peat Marwick, a global consulting firm, as a senior consultant, and later, as a director.
In 1993, she established Career Strategy Inc., becoming a pioneer in the area of career counseling. She ran seminars for individual career planning and developed a recruiting service to answer various corporate needs. She also produced and marketed the CD-ROMS "Resume-kun" and "Resume-kun, the Japanese version" which teach how to write English and Japanese resumes.
She entered the beauty and health sector, launching The Quick in 1996. Fifteen "Nail Quick" stores providing nail care, foot care, reflexology and other services have been established in central locations including the Shinagawa Prince Hotel and in Marunouchi Building. She has also opened two Vitamin Bars, offering supplements, fresh juice and mineral water.
She has lectured at the OECD conference on women's entrepreneurship, Columbia University, Nikkei, various corporations, government agencies and so on. She consulted for the Employment and Human Resources Development Organization of Japan and was a committee member of The Center for the Advancement of Working Women. She is the first chairman of WEO2002-2003, was a director of the Jingu Rotary Club twice and a member of the ACCJ. She is married and has one daughter.
