PROFILE
After graduating from the Faculty of Education at Nagoya University and completing a master's degree at the Graduate School of International Development at Nagoya University, Keiki Yamamoto joined NHK as a reporter in 1995. She worked at the Kanazawa Broadcasting Station and NHK's international broadcaster "NHK WORLD JAPAN" before being named Deputy General Manager of the News Department of Nagoya Broadcasting Station in June 2019. She is now the Chief Lead of the Content Center (since 2021), and a commentator for NHK on gender and gender equality. The evening news program "Marutto!" explains familiar gender issues in the "KY Journal" and is well received.
In 2001, Ms. Yamamoto established a study group for female journalists, and together with more than 1,000 members, continues to disseminate information that leads to positive changes in the world, such as education, work style reform, and gender issues. In 2009, she was selected by the Asia Society as an Asia21 Fellow, a young leader in Asia. She co-authored "Can You Walk Me Away ~ Is the Media Delivering Women's Voices?" and "Before Pressing the Like Button: Internet Space and Media from the Perspective of Gender". Her daughter is in high school.
