FAQ

About the ICWB in general

Q

Is anyone welcome to participate in the ICWB?

A

Yes. Anyone who agrees with the purpose of the ICWB and wants to participate in order to learn and grow is welcome to participate, regardless of age or gender. More than 20% of the participants are men. We look forward to your participation.
Most of the participants so far have been business people people from all over Japan and also from overseas. They include doctors, lawyers, civil servants, and managers who want to "experience" diversity, regardless of their position.
One parents brought her child, an elementary school student who eagerly took notes and learned all day. There are a few junior high and high school students who save up their pocket money for the registration fee and attend on their own. Anyone with high aspirations is welcome to participate.
The only people excluded from participation are those in the business of recruitment and mediation and event planners.
We also introduce female executives and managers, plan lectures, and arrange training, so please contact us if you are interested.

Q

Is it possible for multiple people to participate in the training as paid by the company?

A

Yes. If you apply from the "Apply as a group" button, you can pay for multiple participants at once. We have also received applications from companies in units of several dozen people, such as for management training, executive training, or through internal recruitment.
If you take this opportunity to participate in order to "feel firsthand" the power of diversity, the depth of training and learning will increase. The ICWB is unique. Choose participants who will fully engage, will stay all day, and will commit to learning about diversity.

Q

Is it possible to become a "Partner" of the ICWB?

A

Yes. The ICWB accepts corporate partners. If you agree with the purpose of the ICWB and are enthusiastic about promoting diversity management in your company, we would welcome you as a "Corporate Partner".
In addition to the participation of employees, there will be booths at the venue display your products, logo exposure, and other benefits. We have various levels of partnerships available, so please contact us to promote diversity management and support The ICWB.

About the Program

Q

When should I choose a "Roundtable"? Is it possible to change it on the day?

A

The Roundtable discussions will be held without interpretation (three themes in Japanese and two in English.) The panelists speak for the first 30 minutes of the panel discussion. The next 30 minutes are reserved for the participants to ask questions to the panelists. The last 10 minutes are allotted to the closing comments.
In early July, we'll send you an email asking you which Roundtables you'd like to attend. This will be a preliminary survey to determine the room size. You can change your mind and select another Roundtable at the Conference, but please note that the seats are first-come, first-serve, and there may not be an available seat.

Q

Will I have time to network with other participants?

A

Yes. There are several opportunities to meet other participants—before the Morning session begins, over lunch, at the evening Networking Party, in between sessions. Please make it a point to meet other participants who also have high aspirations.
However, soliciting (selling or trying to conduct business) is prohibited. If you see this occurring, please inform the Secretariat. In addition, recruiting participants for jobs or asking them to be instructors is also prohibited. If you have any requests, please let us know.
Please use this opportunity for your own improvement.

Other

Q

Is it okay to conduct business at the venue?

A

The International Conference for Women in Business is a place to learn together and improve ourselves, so meeting others is a treasured experience. Please introduce yourself to others but don’t engage in conversation if the other person isn’t willing.
Please do not solicit (sell or ask for business), telephone people you’ve met, or send materials to them afterward. This is usually well understood by participants, but in the unlikely event that someone tries to solicit you or makes you feel uncomfortable, please clearly end the conversation. The ICWB is open to everyone so the Secretariat cannot guarantee the credibility of each participant and we cannot be responsible for any trouble between participants. Please use your own judgment.
In addition, those who are in the business of recruiting and mediating employees and those planning events or arranging lectures are not eligible to attend.
In addition to producing the ICWB, we introduce female executives and managers, plan lectures, and arrange training, so please contact the Secretariat if you need these services.
