PROFILE
Asako Osaki graduated from Columbia University's School of International Public Policy with an MA in International Relations. She is responsible for promoting gender equality and women's empowerment at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), where she has worked on projects around the world to educate, support employment and entrepreneurship, and promote political participation, as well as gender mainstreaming UNDP. Currently, she is active in a wide range of activities in Japan and abroad as an expert who is familiar with international standards and trends. The commitments include serving as a member of the Expert Committee of the Council for Gender Equality (Cabinet Office), as a member of the Evaluation Committee Member of the Action Plan on Women, (Peace and Security (WPS) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs), as the Representative Expert of Japan for the International Working Group on Guidelines for the Promotion of ISO58300 Gender Equality, and as a Gender Advisor of Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture. She also serves as an outside director of BIPROGY Co., Ltd. Her most recent book is "The Toyooka Method: A Serious Regional Revitalization Method for Overcoming Population Decline" (Nikkei BP).
