PROFILE

Upon completing her Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering at Nihon University, Miko Ito worked on the thermal and structural design and testing of two nano-satellites, HODOYOSHI-3 and HODOYOSHI-4, under the Cabinet Office's Advanced Research and Development Support Program commonly known as the HODOYOSHI Nano-Satellite Project. She then spent about a year teaching satellite manufacturing to foreign students and providing development support services. In April 2015, she joined Astroscale Japan R&D. After a reorganization, Ms. Ito was appointed General Manager in 2019 and then Managing Director in August 2022. She has been in her current position since February 2023.

In 2018, she was named in “Forbes Emergent 25” and was awarded “Woman of the Year 2018" by Nikkei WOMAN, Inc. She has also won the Astro Woman Award.
