Asako Aoyama is currently leading the FP&A organizations within the NEC group, with a focus on improving performance management and business decision-making processes to drive profitable growth. She joined NEC in 2020 and has played a pivotal role in transforming NEC's Global Business Unit, serving as the business unit's CFO.
Before joining NEC in 2020, she started her career at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu as a CPA followed by the investment banking division of Merrill Lynch Japan. She joined Coca-Cola (Japan) Company, Limited in 2004. In 2011 she became the first Japanese female named to the board of directors in the history of Coca-Cola in Japan and served as CFO at Tokyo Coca-Cola Bottling Company (currently Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc., the third largest bottler in the world, listed in Tokyo Stock Exchange).
She is the interim member of Japanese FSA’s Business Accounting Council. She holds an MBA from the business school at Ohio State University.
