Chie Toriumi is currently Executive Vice President of Nomura Securities in charge of Retail Business Strategy and Management.

Prior to assuming her current role in April 2018, Ms. Toriumi was President and CEO of Nomura Trust and Banking and Senior Managing Director of Nomura Holdings responsible for the banking business of Nomura Group from April 2014. She has also served as Senior Managing Director of Nomura Holdings in charge of Group Strategy. Until 2010, Ms. Toriumi was Deputy Head of the Capital Markets Department at Nomura Securities.

Ms. Toriumi joined Nomura in 1989 and has held several positions in various groups within the firm, including the New Products Development Group in Equities and the Corporate Finance Group. She was also a proprietary trader in the Convertible Bonds and Warrants Department.

She holds a B.A. in Law from Waseda University, and an MBA from Stanford University. She is also certified as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
