Takako Suwa graduated from the Faculty of Engineering, Seikei University, before joining Unisia Jecs Corporation (currently Hitachi Automotive Systems). She took over as president at Daiya Seiki Co., Ltd. at the age of 32 when her father, the founder of the company, passed away. One of her priorities as a young female in management has been to build a new corporate culture and to balance childcare and running a business. Ms. Suwa won the Nikkei Woman of the Year 2013 Grand Prize. She appears on a variety of news shows, including “News Zero” and “Sunday Debate,” and speaks extensively about issues facing small and medium-sized businesses.
