Satomi Ogawa

PROFILE
Satomi Ogawa completed both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Tokyo College of Music. She trained at New National Theatre Opera Studio and studied in Milan as part of an Agency for Cultural Affairs program in Japan that enables artists to train abroad. Ms. Ogawa made her Italian debut in 2009 at Teatro Filarmonico di Verona and went on to perform at Torre del Lago and Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova. She has been widely acclaimed for her many performances in Japan, including “Madame Butterfly” at Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre, “Die Fledermaus” at Ishikawa Ongakudo, “Fidelio” at Nissay Theatre, “Cosi fan tutte” at Hyogo Performing Arts Center, and Fujiwara Opera’s “Norma.” She has performed as a soloist in symphonies and concerts, such as NHK’s New Year Opera Concert and Tokyu Silvester Concert. Ms. Ogawa is involved in charity work aimed at spreading and supporting music education in Cambodia, is a member of Fujiwara Opera, and also participated in CHANEL Pygmalion Days.
