Ikuo Nishioka
CEO and CIO
Mobile Internet Capital, Inc.
Mr. Nishioka was born in Osaka, Japan in 1943. He completed his Masters in Communications Engineering at Osaka University Graduate School of Engineering, where he also earned his doctorate in 1981. Mr. Nishioka initially joined Sharp Corporation, and in 1992, he became vice-president of Intel Japan KK (currently Intel Corporation), a major U.S. semi-conductor manufacturer. In 1993, Mr. Nishioka was also named vice-president in charge of the company's worldwide sales group. In the same year, he was promoted to Intel Japan's CEO, and became chairman in 1997, before leaving the company in 1999. He established Mobile Internet Capital, Inc. with funding from NTT DoCoMo and others, and was named CEO and CIO. He actively communicates the benefits of computers, e-mail, and the Internet to Japanese companies, in order to close the gap in information technology usage with the United States. He also conducts guidance to young entrepreneurs who dreams of establishing their own business. Publications include "Pasokon yatte masuka" [Are You a Computer User?] (Diamond, Inc.) and "IT ni kanshin no nai keieikanbu wa imasugu yamenasai" [Managers Not Interested in IT Should Quit Immediately] (Kanki Publishing).
