Hideaki Inoue
President,
Park Corporation
After graduating from the School of Political Science and Economics of Waseda University in 1987, Mr. Inoue worked for Peat Marwick, a major accounting firm in New York, USA. Upon his return to Japan, he established Park Corporation in 1988 and became its president. Initially an event planning company, his interest was drawn to the flower business from a simple question he had when he visited a wholesale flower market: "Why are flowers so expensive?"
The company initially started in the field by delivering flowers to regular clients from their office. In 1993, he opened his first shop, "Aoyama Flower Market" in Aoyama, Tokyo, with the desire to provide quality flowers at reasonable prices so that everyone can enjoy "living with flowers everyday."
He believes "people buy not just the flowers, but a lifestyle with flowers," building his business with enticing store decor and meticulous product planning. As of March 2006, there are a total of 50 stores nationwide.
He aims to open even more stores, hoping to create a custom in Japan of buying flowers as naturally as in Paris where they are bought alongside the vegetables, fruits and cheese. His goal is to bring the joy of living with flowers and greenery to as many people as possible.
