Masahiro Hosono

Mr. Hosono was born in Niigata prefecture, Japan. His book, "Keizai no nyusu ga yokuwakaru hon 'nihon keizai hen'" [The Book to Help You Really Understand Economic News, Japanese Economy Edition] (Shogakukan), became the first "million-seller" economic book in Japan, and was on the top ten business book best-seller list for 123 weeks. Mr. Hosono's original area of expertise is mathematics, which he taught at a preparatory school from his freshman year in college. His book, "Sugaku ga honto ni yokuwakaru hon" [The Book to Help You Really Understand Mathematics] (Shogakukan), written to prepare students for college entrance exams, became a major best-seller, selling over 2 million copies. His most recent book, "Sekaiichi wakariyasui kabuno hon" [The World's Most Easy to Understand Book on Stocks] (Bungeishunju) is currently Japan's best selling book on stocks. He also makes frequent appearances as a film critic in newspapers, magazines, radio and TV.
