Upon graduating from Sophia University, Ms. Daimon joined The Japan Times in 1991. At the newspaper, she covered various fields ranging from politics to business. Since 1999, she has been an editor at the National News Section. In 2000, she won the Nieman fellowship at Harvard University, the oldest fellowship for journalists in the U.S. , and studied journalism and American politics. In 2004, she spent one month in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, researching about ``Women in Saudi Arabia'' as a fellow at King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies. She is the author or "Harvard de katarareru sekai senryaku (What is the world's stragtegy discussed at Harvard? )'' (Kobunsha) . She is married and has a two-year-old daughter.
