Ms. Akisawa was born in Michigan, USA. She received her education at the Kobe International School, and later attended Sophia University, where as a student, she was selected to represent the Kinki Area for the Miss Universe competition. She later began working in the beauty industry and as a business interpreter, before becoming a supplements coordinator. She currently makes numerous appearances in magazines and TV programs as an Inner Beauty Specialist. Her published works include "The Magic of Supplements for Energy and Beauty" (Seihodo). She is also an Advisor for the non-profit Anti-Ageing Network, a Supplements Guide for the internet site "All About", and also hosts "Beautyneeds", a comprehensive beauty-related site.
