PROFILE
Mari has been working for an IT company and a US investment bank, etc. She holds an M.S. from University of Michigan, School for Environment and Sustainability.
Mari joined Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities in 2000 to start up the Clean Energy Finance Committee. She has been working on climate change policy especially climate finance and mitigation projects and pursuing modalities of enhancing financial incentives to reduce greenhouse gases emissions. With these experiences in climate change finance, her expertise is now advisory on the field of ESG investment, SDGs business and sustainable finance. She also serves as a part-time lecturer at the Graduate School of Media and Governance, Keio University.
Mari is member of Ministry of the Environment’s Global Environment Committee of Central Environment Council, Financial Services Agency’s Expert Panel on Sustainable Finance, etc. She was a member of the UN’s We Empower Japan Advisory Group in 2018-2020.
Mari was selected as a "Woman of the Year, 2008" by Nikkei Woman. She also received “HAPPY WOMAN AWARD 2021 for SDGs” in an individual category.
