Chief Environmental Officer, BIG EYE COMPANY Co., Ltd.
PROFILE
Born in 1997 and grew up in Shonan of Kanagawa Prefecture. When studying fashion in the UK under the government’s “Tobitate! (Leap for Tomorrow) Study Abroad Initiative,” she gained a critical awareness of the social issues surrounding clothing and began rethinking the long-term consequences of making clothes.
After graduating from International Christian University, she moved to Kamikatsu in Tokushima Prefecture and went to work for Kamikatsu Zero Waste Center, which opened in May 2020. She now lives in a small town surrounded by mountains with a population of about 1,500 and is engaged in operating the facility, which aims for a recycling society by addressing waste issues.
At the adjoining HOTEL WHY, guests can experience life in Kamikatsu by staying overnight and participate in a study tour upon check-in.
