In NEC's Digital Trust Promotion Department, Ms. Naganuma oversees human rights and privacy compliance for the AI business. As the head of the Regulation Investigation Office, she is responsible for regulatory compliance for NEC’s major businesses.
After completing her graduate studies in the UK, Ms. Naganuma worked for HP Japan and LAC Corporation before joining NEC in 2015. She has developed her career around information/cyber security and is currently focused on establishing the digital trust field, including AI, and activities for future technology and regulatory domains.
Since early 2000, Ms. Naganuma has participated in international standardization and global rule-making activities, mainly in the security and telecommunications fields, and has served as chairman and in other leadership positions, including her current role as vice chair of the Advisory Group, Standardization Bureau, of the International Telecommunication Union. She is currently developing and deploying international standards and rules in cutting-edge fields from the perspective of Japanese companies that operate globally.
