PROFILE

Sue Kinoshita became Minister Counsellor for Economic Diplomacy at the British Embassy Tokyo in September 2018. After being appointed Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy Tokyo during 2020-2021, Sue has returned to her current role since July 2021.
Previous roles have included Consul-General and Corporate Services Director at the British Government offices in Geneva from 2007, Director of Trade and Investment at the British Embassy Tokyo from 2010, and then Deputy Head of Mission and Director of Trade and Investment at the British Embassy in Seoul from 2015.
Since joining the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1983, Sue has worked on Trade Policy, Press and Public Affairs, EU accession issues, and taken on HR and Finance roles.
Sue graduated from University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology.
