Akiko Ishi
Representative director, Self-Support Management
PROFILE
am a blind person as a result of surgery in 2003. As a result of my total
vision loss, I had to leave my job as a manager at a staffing agency.
After I underwent training, I found a job in the human resources
headquarters of an IT company in 2006, where I was responsible for
everything from the hiring to the management of physically challenged
people.
In 2011, I took a leave of absence from the company due to a broken
bone. In the same year, I launched a general incorporated association,
Self-Support Management, and continue to serve as its representative
director.
Self-Support Management conducts "makeup classes", "seeing AI
hands-on workshops", "iPhone classes", etc. for the visually impaired
with the goal of supporting and managing the independence of the
physically challenged.
My family consists of my humorous husband and a 6-year-old daughter,
and we enjoy our days with smiles on our faces.
