Hiroko Sakurai was born in 1965 and is originally from Saga Prefecture.
She joined Daiwa Securities after graduating from Tsuda University in 1988. She worked in business support for Institutional Investor Sales initially as an assistant. She was promoted in 1999, becoming the first female salesperson in the company to work in the Institutional Investor Sales Department, and subsequently, in the Corporate Sales Department. She was appointed as Head of the Institutional Equity Sales Department in 2011. In 2013, she was assigned as Head of the Investor Relations Office. She was promoted to Executive Officer in 2016 and has worked in her current role since April 2021. She has a wide range of experience in the stock market, including individual and corporate sales, and investor relations.
