Tomoko Nagano
Newscaster, Journalist
PROFILE
Born in New Jersey, US. After graduating from the Department of English Studies of the Faculty of Foreign Studies at Sophia University, she joined Fuji Television as an announcer. She later moved to the US because of her husband’s work. At New York University Graduate School, she majored in Media and the Environment and researched the impact of media on humanity and history. In April 2000, she became newscaster of “The Scoop” (TV Asahi). She was later engaged as newscaster of “Asa Made Nama TV!” “The Scoop Special” “Hodo Station” and “Sunday Station.” She continues to travel to the front lines in Japan and abroad as a journalist and serves as news director of Japan for UNHCR.
