Seiji Nakata
President and CEO, Daiwa Securities Group Inc.
PROFILE
Mr. Seiji Nakata has led Daiwa Securities Group as President and CEO since 2017. He values SDGs as a core corporate strategy and has initiated various programs, including a charity program to end child poverty.
In his 37-year career since 1983, Mr. Nakata has been responsible for a wide variety of senior leadership roles covering Daiwa’s retail business, corporate client coverage, strategic planning and human resources. In 2016, he was appointed as Deputy President and COO for Daiwa Securities Group. Prior to that, he led Daiwa’s retail business in 2015 and corporate client coverage division in 2012 as Senior Executive Managing Director. In 2006, he was appointed as Senior Managing Director responsible for corporate strategy for Daiwa Group. He also led the Corporate Client Coverage Dept. as Managing Director for Daiwa Securities SMBC Co. Ltd. from 2002 to 2004.
He enjoys cooking and loves to serve his homemade pasta and gyoza for his family on weekends.
He was born in 1960 and graduated from Waseda University in 1983 (BA in Political Science).
