Wendela Elsen has over 22 year’s experience in the organisational and human
resources field. She started her career as a Management trainee at an
international bank in the Netherlands. After a few years in management she
specialised in the organisational and human resources field and became a
consultant. In 1997 she moved to Taiwan where she worked as the Regional HR
Director for KPMG. After three years she left KPMG and started working as a
free lance HR Consultant. In 2003 she moved to Japan and after a 1.5 year's
career break during which she focused on the care of her children, she set
up her own company, OpenRabbit K.K., and started working again as an HR
Consultant. Most of her clients are in the financial sector but she also
gained experience in the non-profit sector. The past six years she has
spent the majority of her time consulting PwC. Her most recent project at
PwC is designing PwC's Diversity Strategy and leading the Diversity team in
implementing change .
Wendela Elsen has a bachelor degree in Hotel Management from the College of
Hotel Management in The Hague. She also holds a Bachelor degree in
Sociology from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam and a Master degree in
Sociology from the University of Amsterdam, all in the Netherlands.
Wendela is married and has a 12 year old son and 10 year old twin girls.
Most of her free time she spends with her husband and children but she is
also a singer. Since she moved to Tokyo she has been an active member of
the soprano section in the British Embassy Choir.
