Welcome to the International Conference for Women in Business!

The International Conference for Women in Business is a productive and rewarding 10-hour event open to anyone who is highly motivated—regardless of profession, age, gender, or nationality. The event's productivity stems from its positive-minded participants. Although most are career women in their 20s to 40s, it is also attended by men (about 8% each year) and women of all ages—from 15–year-old high school students to seniors in their 70s—from across Japan and the world every year.

If you are debating on whether to go because you do not want to go alone or do not know anyone else going, there is no need to worry—in fact, most people go alone. From 7 AM when people begin to line up at the door before the Conference starts, you will be surrounded by positive-minded, energetic, friendly people. Seating is not reserved, so participants freely greet each other and start up conversations with others sitting at the same table.

There are four ways to attend: as a general participant, or as a matching sponsor for those who wish to sponsor individuals unable to participate for financial reasons such people from the areas afflicted by the Great East Japan Earthquake, as the free invited participation with the support of a matching sponsor, or as a corporate sponsor. How to Register

There are four ways to register for the 17th International Conference for Women in Business.

  1. General participation
  2. Matching Sponsor Participation
  3. Free Invited Participation with the Support of a Sponsor
  4. Participation as a Corporate Sponsor

1. General Participation

The International Conference for Women in Business is open to anyone who is highly motivated-regardless of profession, age, gender, or nationality. Every year 60-70% of participants are first-timers to the Conference, so you are sure to make many new friends. Simultaneous Japanese-English interpretation is provided for the speeches in the morning and many of the interactive discussions in the afternoon will be conducted in English, so you may feel free to participate even if you do not speak Japanese.

Registration Fee

Registration fee includes access to the entire program of the 10-hour Conference as follows:

  1. Morning speeches
  2. Hotel’s course lunch
  3. Two afternoon interactive discussions (You may participate in one discussion per session)
  4. Buffet-style networking reception
Registration Period Fees
If registered by 11:59 PM on June 25 (Mon) JPY 38,000
If registered between June 26 (Mon) and 11:59 PM on July 20 (Fri) JPY 39,000
If registered after July 21 (Sat) JPY 40,000

* The above fee includes access to the entire program of the 10-hour Conference as follows:
・Morning Speeches
・Full course lunch
・Two afternoon interactive discussion (Participants may join one discussion each session)
・Buffet-style networking reception

* To receive the above discounts for early registration, you must pay the fee within one week of registering.

* If you register after July 23, please send a copy of the bank transfer payment receipt to the email address at the bottom of the page and bring it with you to the Conference.

* You may use up to 20,000 ewoman points. Please indicate how many points you want to use when you register. You will receive cash back on the day of the Conference for the number of points spent.

* Once paid, registration fees cannot be refunded for any reason. However, you can transfer registration to another person. Please contact us beforehand if you wish to do so.

* The program and scheduled speakers are subject to change in the event of unavoidable circumstances. Registration fees cannot be refunded regardless of the changes.

* Registration is complete once payment of fees is confirmed.

* Registration will be accepted in order in which they are received. Registration will close once the maximum number of participants has been reached.


"Matching Sponsor" is a sponsorship program which allows you to provide financial support and share your time and experience with someone who lacks the financial means to come to the Conference on their own.
As a matching sponsor you pay the fees of one or more people in addition to your own registration fee, who are then invited to attend the Conference free of charge.

* If you wish to sponsor two or more individuals, please add JPY 38,000 for each additional person. (Example: Your fee plus 2 others would be JPY 114,000 for 3 people).

* To receive the above discounts for early registration, you must pay the fee within one week of registering.

* You may use up to 20,000 ewoman points. Please inform us of the number of points you wish to apply to your registration. You will receive cash back on the day of the Conference for the number of points spent.

*Once paid, registration fees cannot be refunded for any reason. However, you can transfer registration to another person. Please contact us beforehand if you wish to do so.

The following individuals are eligible to receive financial support through the 17th International Conference for Women in Business Matching Sponsor program:

1) Persons from areas afflicted by the Great East Japan Earthquake or,
2) Female high school or university students in Japan who wish to attend the Conference. Individuals or corporations may become a sponsor.

The hotel and ewoman, inc. will contribute toward transportation and lodging expenses for persons from disaster-afflicted areas. Sponsored attendees are able to attend the entire 10-hour Conference including morning speeches, interactive discussions, and buffet-style networking reception. At the Conference, you will be given a reserved seat at the front of the venue and will be introduced to your matching sponsor.

  • Maximum Number of Applicants: Depends on the number of matching sponsors
  • Selection Process: Persons who wish to be sponsored must fill out the standard registration form and submit an essay on why you want to attend the Conference and what you hope to gain by attending. The selection process will be based on the essay.
  • Website: If you are selected to receive sponsorship, your picture and comments on the Conference may be posted on the website.
  • Deadline: Registration will end once the maximum number of participants has been reached.
  • Notification of Results: Applicants will be notified by email.

4. Participation as Corporate Sponsor

Becoming a corporate sponsor is great branding and marketing opportunity for your company. Participating in this way can also be leveraged as part of your diversity or human resource development program. Please contact us below if you are interested in becoming a corporate sponsor.

  • Although you are required to indicate which interactive discussion you will attend when you register, this is only for our planning purposes. On the day of the Conference, you are free to attend any session you choose. There is no need to contact us beforehand.

Things to Remember on the Day of the Conference

  • Although there is no dress code, most attendees come in business or business casual dress.
  • There is no reserved seating for general participants. Please come early if you wish to sit in front.
  • There will be many networking opportunities at the Conference, so please remember to bring extra business cards.
  • Because it is a large venue, it may take time for the air conditioner to adjust the temperature. We recommend that you bring a light coat or jacket.
  • You are free to come and leave at any time. If you do leave in the middle of the Conference you will need your nametag to be admitted in again.
  • Giving your nametag to another so they may attend the Conference in your place is prohibited.

Notes and Requests to Participants

The International Conference for Women in Business is a place for mutual learning and enhancement, so encounters are something to be cherished. It is our hope that these encounters will be mutually beneficial; however, this applies only when both parties desire this.
We ask that participants refrain from randomly soliciting business, calling, or sending materials to those they exchanged business cards with, especially if the other party has indicated that he or she is not interested.
If you are approached by someone you exchanged business cards with, or someone from the same company, soliciting services or products you do not desire, or if someone pushes for a business transaction or conversation you feel uncomfortable with, please clearly decline. You should also decline if something feels suspicious.
Anyone is free to participate in this Conference. The Conference will not guarantee the trustworthiness of any participant attending. We will not be held liable should any problems arise and ask that participants use their own judgment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Interpreters

Q : Will interpreters be provided?

A: Japanese-English interpretation will be provided for all morning speeches and at the talk show. No interpreters will be provided at the afternoon interactive discussions or the networking reception, although several interactive discussions will be conducted in English.

Interactive Discussions

Q: I already indicated two Interactive Discussions during registration, but can I select different ones a later time or on the day of the Conference?

A: Yes. We ask to indicate the two Interactive Discussions you plan to attend so we can determine the size of rooms that are needed. You are free to change your mind, even on the day of the Conference.

Q: What will the Interactive Discussions be like?

A: The interactive discussions are panel discussions in which all attendees are encouraged to participate (although some discussions are more like workshops). Each discussion is based on a single theme and most are attended by one facilitator and 2-4 speakers. Depending on the theme, some are carried out as lectures, while others are conducted as discussions. Regardless of the format, all attendees are encouraged to express their views and ask questions freely.

Registration

Q: When is the registration deadline?

A. Although there is no set deadline, registration will end once the maximum number of participants has been reached, so we encourage you to register and pay as soon as possible.

Payment of Registration Fee

Q: I want to attend, but I won't know whether I can until the last minute. If I register now and become unable to attend, can I receive a refund?

A: Once you register, you will have one week to send the payment via bank transfer. You may cancel at any time before sending the payment. From July 21 to the day of the Conference, the registration fee is JPY 40,000. Registration is complete once payment of fees has been confirmed. If the maximum number of participants has been reached before payment has been confirmed, your registration will be canceled.

Q: Can I pay my friend's fee with my own when I transfer the payment?

A: Yes. However, you must indicate the registration number and name of both participants in the name section on the bank transfer slip so that we can confirm the payment.

ewoman Points

Q: Can I use ewoman points?

A: ewoman Peers who have accumulated points may use up to 20,000 points (JPY 20,000) to pay registration fees. Please indicate the number of points you wish to use on the registration form. You will receive cash back on the day of the Conference for the number of points spent.

Invoice/Receipt

Q: Can I have an invoice made out to my company?

A: Yes, we can provide an invoice. After registering, please send an email with the following information to:

Q: Can you send me a payment receipt?

A: Yes. Please send an email with the following information to the address below.

If you can wait until the day of the Conference, please come to the information desk when you arrive. If you are in a hurry, contact us with your name, address and/or company name and we will send it by mail. Please note that it can take up to two weeks after your registration fee is confirmed.

Staying at the Hotel

Q: I plan to attend the Conference. Can I reserve a room at the hotel at the same time?

A: Conference participants receive a special 40% discount for lodging.

Cancellations

I already sent my payment via bank transfer but I am suddenly unable to attend. Can I receive a refund?

A: Unfortunately we are unable to give refunds, as indicated elsewhere on this website.

If you are unable to attend, you may transfer registration to another person. Please inform us of the person's name beforehand so we can make a nametag for him or her.

Day-care

We are unable to recommend any babysitting services near the venue. Thank you for your kind understanding.
