Nobuko Takahashi
Freelance Journalist
After graduating Ochanomizu University, Ms. Takahashi worked as a reporter at the publisher Shufu no Tomo. Turning freelance in 1986, she specialized in household budgeting, finance, and the economy with in-depth research and consumer oriented point of view. Since she was assigned as a member of Insurance Council in 1996, she works to shape national policy and corporate activities through her many roles; committee member of the Financial System Council, the Information and Communications Council, and the Commission on Policy Evaluation and Evaluation of Incorporated Administrative Agencies. She is also well known as an innovative housekeeping book planner, household budget advisor, and promoter of consumer financial education through her activity on newspapers, magazines and television. From 2004 to 2007, she was assigned as a principal for gTosho Academyh, an educational institution of Tokyo Stock Exchange Group. From 2006 to 2009, Ms. Takahashi served as independent director for the Tokyo Stock Exchange Group, Inc. She currently serves as outside auditor for Benesse Corporation and Japan Finance Corporation.
Her most recent book is "New Women's Decisions: "Employment, Marriage, Child-raising, Career Change, Promotion" (Magazine House). She is an ewoman online Roundtable Discussion Chair.
