Tatsuya Matsui
Robot Designer
Founder and C.E.O., Flower Robotics, Inc.
Mr. Matsui was born in Tokyo in 1969. After graduating the College of Art at Nihon University in 1991, he worked at Kenzo Tange Associates before moving to France. At the Japan Science and Technology Corporation, he was involved in projects such as designing the humanoid robot "PINO".
Mr. Matsui founded Flower Robotics, Inc. in 2001, and the company developed the humanoid robots "Posy" and "Palette" completely in-house. "Palette" was made available for purchase or rent since 2009. He also did branding for the STARFLYER airline, designed the Dunhill flagship store in Ginza, and designed/developed the KDDI iida concept model "Polaris".
Mr. Matsui has exhibited in many venues including MoMA and the Venice Biennale and won numerous awards such as the iF design award and Good Design Award.
