Mitsuyuki Kanamori

President & CEO, Citizen Holdings Co., Ltd.

Mr. Kanamori was born in 1943 and is a native of Yokohama in Kanagawa prefecture. After graduating the Faculty of Economics at Keio University, he joined Citizen Watch Co., Ltd. (now Citizen Holdings Co., Ltd.). He has hands-on management experience in diverse business lines within the Citizen Group, including watches, industrial machinery, and information equipment.
Mr. Kanamori has established a reputation for liquidating and rebuilding failing companies, especially those located abroad. When he was posted in Europe in the 1970s, he contributed to the promotion of Citizen's global business by building a watch sales network and by bringing an acquired German machine tool company to profitability through dynamic structural reform.
Mr. Kanamori was named President and CEO in 2008.
Citizen Holdings Co., Ltd. has adopted a new corporate governance framework, a "Company with a Board of Statutory Auditors", and established a nominating and compensation committee with two additional external board members since 2007.
