Dr. Lo is a native of Hong Kong. After graduating from Diocesan Girls' School (high school) in Hong Kong in 1996, she attended the University of Oxford in England and graduated the Faculty of Medicine in Clinical Medicine in 2002.
Dr. Lo trained and worked as a paediatrician at Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals, Bedford General Hospital, Addenbrooke's Hospital, and Great Ormond Street Hospital (special interest in endocrinology and metabolism) as a specialist in metabolism and internal secretions. She spent 2006 through 2008 in Japan as a student on recipient of the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation scholarship. After studying the Japanese language for six months, she did clinical research at the National Center for Child Health and Development.
In 2008, she joined Merck Serono Co., Ltd. and is mainly responsible for clinical development of in the areas of reproductive medicine (fertility treatment), the endocrine system endocrinology, and the central nervous system (neurodegenerative disorders). She also provides medical advice for other drug development.
