Hiroshi Tasaka

Dr. Tasaka graduated from the University of Tokyo in 1974 and received a Doctor of Engineering degree from the Graduate School of the University of Tokyo in 1981. From 1987, he served as a Visiting Researcher at the Battelle Memorial Institute, a US think tank. In 1990, he joined the foundation of The Japan Research Institute (JRI). He served as member of the board and is now a Fellow of JRI.
In 2000, Dr. Tasaka joined Tama University as a professor. In the same year, he became Founder and President of the Think Tank SophiaBank. In 2003, he founded The Japan Social Entrepreneur Forum and served as President.
Dr. Tasaka was nominated as a member of US-Japan Innovators by The Japan Society in the US in 2005. In 2008, he was appointed a member of The Global Agenda Council of The World Economic Forum (Davos Conference). In 2010, he became the Japan President of The Club of Budapest, which has four Nobel Prize Winners as honorary members.
Dr. Tasaka is the author of over 50 books and is currently active publishing books and speaking overseas in his unique style as a philosopher and a poet.
