Naoyuki Sato

Mr. Sato was born in Tokyo in 1961. After many years as a copywriter and commercial planner, and later as a web director, he is now responsible for the overall development of advertising campaigns. He has won many awards, including the Japan Internet Advertising Association Grand Prix for his "Slam Dunk 100 million copies sold: Thank You Campaign." He has published "Ashita no Kokoku (Ads of Tomorrow)" (ASCII Shinsho) under his real name and "Umahyahya Sanuki Udon (Amazingly Delicious Sanuki Udon Noodles)" (Kobunsha Bunko), "Okinawa Yagi Jigoku (Okinawa Goat Hell)" (Kadokawa Bunko), "Jibaran" (Nikkei BP), and other titles under the name "Satonao." His most recent publication is "Gokuraku Oishii Nihaku Mikka (Delicious Paradise in Two Nights and Three Days)" (Bungeishunju). His personal website, www.satonao.com, has been operational since 1995. Mr. Sato also writes a regular column in the Yomiuri Shimbun about media theory.
