Miyako Maekita
Representative, Sustena
Ms. Maekita is a representative for Sustena, an advertising media creative agency. She has been working on NGO ads since 1994 and is the chief editor for "ecocolo," an eco- lifestyle magazine. She promotes the cultural movement "Candle Night" and was a member of the Japan campaign committee for the Global Call to Action Against Poverty in 2005. Her key publication is "Eco-Shift" (Kodansha Gendai Shinsho).
Ms. Maekita is also a visiting lecturer of Peace & Conflict Studies at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, as well as part-time lecturer at Rikkyo University and Sophia University, and visiting professor at Kyoto University of Art and Design and Tohoku University of Art & Design.
