After graduating from Japan Women's University, Ms. Kamada joined East Japan Railway Company in 1989. Her career has centered on business development, and after stints at a major department store, headquarters, a regional office, and Granduo Tachikawa, she joined the Life-Style Business Development Headquarters "Tachikawa station and Omiya station development project" from 2001.
Ms. Kamada was a central figure on the team that created the concept of "ekinaka (in the station)" and launched "ecute." In 2005, she became President and CEO at JR East Station Retailing, which operates ecute. She has been in her current position since November 2008.
She is also currently a member of the Agricultural Reform Committee of the Ibaraki Prefecture Agricultural Policy Council, as well as a councilor for Japan Women's University.
