Koichi Ito
Professor of accounting and finance research, Chiba University of Commerce Graduate School
Professor Ito specializes in personal finance, life-design theory, and life planning theory and is certified as both a financial planner and tax accountant. His current positions also include Executive Director of the Japan Association for Financial Planners, advisor for the FP Consulting Section of Sony, and president of Polano Consulting.
Professor Ito researched Western philosophy and Japanese history of thought for his Ph.D at the Graduate School of Humanities at Hosei University. Since then, he has been active in the field of personal finance and conducts seminars about finance from the perspective of the happiness theory and philosophy. He often appears on TV and radio programs (such as NHK's "Kakei Shindan (Family Budget Diagnosis)") and writes for newspapers, magazines, and websites. Professor Ito is also dedicated to financial and economic education. His written works include: "58-sai Karano Money Boueijutsu (Money Defense Tactics from Age 58)" "Kinyu Shouhin Nanndemo Hyakka (Guide to Financial Products);" "Life Planning: Riron to Jirei (Theories and Case Studies of Life Planning);" the high school textbook "Katei Sogo (General Home Economics);" and a translation of "Lectures on Kant's Political Philosophy." He is also a moderator for the ewoman roundtable discussion forum.
