Yukio Fujimaki
President, Fujimaki Brothers, Inc.
Mr. Fujimaki was born in Tokyo in 1960. After graduating Sophia University, he joined Isetan and produced numerous sales sections including "Kaihoku," "Re-Style," and "BPQC." He was also responsible for the ladies' section as part of the founding team for Barneys Japan.
After leaving Isetan, he worked as an executive at an apparel company and bag company. He went on to become president of Fukuske Corporation in 2003 and successfully rebuilt the company in a year and a half. In 2005, he became president and representative director of Seven & I Research and Development Institute and director of the apparel business unit at Ito-Yokado. He has now started working on proposing new lifestyles and creating sales sections and brands that focus on the keyword "Japan."
Another project was the development of the "Fujimaki Shoten corner" especially targeting customers from abroad at the Arts and Design Store in Roppongi Hills. Mr. Fujimaki also works as a specially appointed professor at Meiji University. He also writes for magazines, gives lectures, and serves as a judge on various panels.
