Junko Edahiro
Environmental Journalist
Translator
Junko Edahiro has a Master's in Educational Psychology from the University of Tokyo. As an environmental journalist, she writes, speaks, lectures, and holds seminars relating to the environment. She also translates various books as a translator.
She is also involved in consulting for corporations relating to environmental management systems, environmental reporting, etc., and shares her experiences and perspectives widely through an e-mail newsletter, regarding the state of global environment and initiatives around Japan.
In 2002, along with other collaborators, she launched and jointly serves as co-chief executive of Japan for Sustainability (JFS), a non-profit environmental communication platform that provides information in English for the world about activities in Japan that promote sustainability.
In 2004, she established e's Inc. and in 2005, set up Change Agent, Inc. with another collaborator to help people become "change agents" and create networks of these people. She is also a visiting researcher at the Univ. of Tokyo, Research into Artifacts, Center for Engineering.
Her publications include "You Can Do Anything If You Get Up at 2:00am Every Morning". Her published translations include "Limits to Growth:The 30 Year Update" by Donnela Meadows,et al., and "An Inconvenient Truth" by Al Gore.
