Takejiro Sueyoshi

Mr. Sueyoshi was born in January 1945 in Kagoshima. He graduated in 1967 from the Faculty of Economics, University of Tokyo and joined Mitsubishi Bank in the same year. After management stints in New York and Bangkok, he returned to Japan in 1987 to manage the Seijo branch office. Before being appointed as director in June 1994, he was head of sales department and manager of New York branch office. In 1998, he joined Nikko Asset Management as vice president and also served as a committee member of the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Inititave (UNEP FI). He resigned from the company in 2002.
Mr. Sueyoshi has been serving as special advisor for the UNEP FI from July 2003. He has appeared on numerous TV programs as a commentator and gives speeches on environmental issues and CSR/SRI. He also serves as external director and auditor for several companies. He enjoys sports and learning about wine. In 2003, he earned a certificate of wine expertise.
His publications include "Japan New Star", "Carbon Risk" (Hokuseido, co-writer), and "Hazardous Chain" (Gentosha).
