Oki Matsumoto
President and CEO, Monex Group, Inc.
Mr. Matsumoto was born in Urawa City, Saitama in 1963. After graduating from the Faculty of Law, Tokyo University, he worked at Salomon Brothers (USA) before moving to Goldman Sachs in April 1990. In November 1990, at age 30, he was named General Partner, the youngest in the company's history.
In 1999 with Sony as the co-investor, he founded Monex, Inc., an online securities brokerage. He was named one of the "25 Rising Stars" by Fortune Magazine in 2001.
Mr. Matsumoto participates actively in international summits, such as the Davos Summit and Clinton Global Initiative. In May 2005, his company merged with Nikko Beans, Inc. The new entity, Monex Beans, Inc., was listed on the First Section of Tokyo Stock Exchange in September 2005.
