Kentaro Iemoto
President and CEO, Clara Online Inc.
Mr. Iemoto was born in Nagoya in 1981. His involvement in computing and the internet began at age 11, and he established Clara Online at age 15. In the same year, he passed the qualification test to take the university entrance examination. From 2001 to 2006 he studied at the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies of Keio University. In March 2007 he graduated from the Graduate School of Sport Sciences, Waseda University.
At age 14 he underwent surgery for a cerebral tumor and was wheelchair-bound for 4 years. Mr. Iemoto was elected as one of the "100 Leaders of the 21st Century" by Newsweek magazine in January 1999 and as one of the "80 People to Watch in 10 Years" by Foresight magazine (Shinchosha) in September 2000.
