Sayuri Daimon
Director of the National News Section, the Japan Times
Upon graduating from Sophia University, Ms. Daimon joined The Japan Times in 1991. At the newspaper, she covered various fields ranging from politics to business and became an editor in 1999. Since July, 2006, she has been serving as director of the National News Section. In 2000, she won the Nieman fellowship at Harvard University, the oldest fellowship for journalists in the U.S., and studied journalism and American politics. In 2004, she spent one month in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, researching about ``Women in Saudi Arabia'' as a fellow at King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies. She is the author of ``Harvard-de-katarareru Sekai Senryaku (Diplomatic strategies discussed at Harvard) ''(Kobunsha Co.) She is married and has a four-year-old daughter.
