Ms. Amemiya graduated from Ochanomizu University before joining Pola, a Japanese cosmetics corporation. In 1985 she joined Avon Products, where she started in marketing and sales, became a director of training and held positions in HR, and then was appointed Sales Director of the Pacific Region. She has been in her current position at TEPCO since February 2006.
Ms. Amemiya is also a qualified Career Development Advisor (CDA: Officially recognized by Japan Career Development Association).
